What is included?
Beekeeping protective gear
We will provide you with a bee suit, gloves, and a veil to wear over your face for safety.
A guided hive inspection
No two apiary visits are the same, but during your visit you will see inside a honey bee hive and experience many of the components of a beekeeper’s hive inspection. Expect to see the queen, worker bees, drones, brood, the colony’s food stores, and bee behaviors. You’ll learn about honey bees and apiary management as we go. We love questions so come with your curiosity!
A catered pollinator picnic
After the hive inspection, we will provide a picnic meal that celebrates the work of the bees, including fruits and vegetables that rely on pollination and our most favorite food: honey!
Additional details
The entire experience lasts about 2 hours. Kids, 6 years and older, are welcome but must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The apiary visit and pollinator picnic is $80/person.
