Terms and Conditions
Oct 29, 2026
Effective date: October 29, 2026.
1. Agreement to These Terms
By visiting happyhivebeecompany.com or buying from Happy Hive Bee Company ("Happy Hive," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or purchase our products or services.
Happy Hive Bee Company is a beekeeping business based in Greenville, South Carolina, owned and operated by Jessica and Kristin [confirm your legal business name and entity type, such as LLC]. We sell raw local honey and offer bee experiences, including Adopt-A-Hive, Host-a-Hive, and Bee Days at the Apiary. You can reach us at happyhivebeeco@gmail.com.
Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old, or have a parent or guardian's permission, to place an order. By using our site you confirm that the information you give us is accurate and complete.
Use of the website. You may use our website for lawful purposes only. You agree not to interfere with the site's operation, attempt to access areas you are not authorized to use, or use the site to send spam or harmful code.
2. Products, Pricing, and Payment
Product descriptions. We try to describe and photograph our products accurately. Because raw honey is a natural product, color, flavor, texture, and crystallization will vary from batch to batch and season to season. These variations are normal and are not defects.
Availability. Our honey is produced in limited quantities and depends on the harvest. We may limit quantities, discontinue products, or decline any order at our discretion.
Pricing. All prices are in U.S. dollars and may change without notice. We may correct pricing errors, and if we do, we will offer you the choice to confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund.
Payment. Payment is due when you place your order. We accept the payment methods shown at checkout, which are processed by a third-party payment processor [confirm, for example Stripe or PayPal through Squarespace]. We do not store your full card number. By submitting payment, you confirm you are authorized to use the payment method.
Taxes. Where a product page says taxes are included, the listed price is the final price. Otherwise, applicable sales tax is added at checkout.
3. Orders, Shipping, and Delivery
Order acceptance. Your order is an offer to buy. It is accepted when we send a shipping confirmation or, for local sales, when we hand over the product.
Processing and shipping. Honey orders are typically picked up at our apiary off Stallings Road in Taylors, South Carolina, on the pickup date listed on the product page. Where shipping is offered, we will tell you at checkout. Carrier delivery estimates are not guaranteed. [Confirm whether you ship honey, and to which regions.]
Shipping costs. Any shipping charges are shown at checkout. Adopt-A-Hive honey shares may be picked up locally or shipped for an additional charge.
Risk of loss. Title and risk of loss pass to you when the carrier delivers the package to the address you provided. Please make sure your shipping address is correct. We are not responsible for packages returned or lost because of an incorrect address.
Damage in transit. Glass jars can break or leak in shipping. If your order arrives damaged, contact us as described in Section 4.
4. Returns, Refunds, and Cancellations
Food products. For food safety reasons, we cannot accept returns of opened or used honey or other consumable products. If your order arrives damaged, leaking, or incorrect, contact us within [7] days of delivery at happyhivebeeco@gmail.com with your order number and a photo. We will replace the item or refund you at our discretion.
Non-food products. Unused non-food merchandise, such as stickers, may be returned within [14] days of delivery. You are responsible for return shipping unless the return is due to our error. Refunds go back to your original payment method within [10] business days of our receiving the item.
Cancellations. You may cancel an order before it ships by contacting us right away. Once an order has shipped, it cannot be canceled, but you may request a return under this section.
Experiences and memberships. Refunds and cancellations for Bee Days, Adopt-A-Hive, and Host-a-Hive are covered in Section 6.
5. Honey and Food Safety Notices
Infants. Honey should never be given to children under 12 months old. Raw honey can contain spores that cause infant botulism.
Allergies. Our raw honey can contain traces of pollen, propolis, and beeswax, which can cause reactions in people allergic to bee products, pollen, or related plants. If you have allergies or a medical condition, consult your doctor before use.
Raw and local honey. Our honey is sold as 100% raw honey. Crystallization is natural and does not mean the honey has spoiled. You can gently warm it to return it to liquid.
No medical claims. We do not claim that our products diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Statements about local honey and allergies or wellness have not been evaluated by the FDA, and results vary.
Storage and use. Store honey as directed on the label, away from heat and direct sunlight. Use products only for their intended purpose, and discontinue use if you have a reaction.
6. Experiences: Adopt-A-Hive, Host-a-Hive, and Bee Days
Prices and details below come from your website as of October 29, 2026. Please confirm the bracketed items, since your site does not state them.
Adopt-A-Hive. Adopt-A-Hive is $500 per year, billed annually, with Year 2 currently listed at $450. It includes a custom-painted hive of honey bees installed and managed at our apiary, monthly digital updates, 12 Bee Day tickets, 2 hive inspection tickets, and twelve 12-oz jars of honey at the end of the season (local pickup, or shipping for an additional charge). Adoption does not transfer ownership of the hive, bees, or equipment [confirm]. We will support, sustain, or replace your colony if it struggles, but we cannot guarantee a specific honey harvest or that any colony will survive. [Confirm: renewal terms, whether unused tickets expire, and refund policy.]
Host-a-Hive. Host-a-Hive costs a $750 initial investment (property assessment, painted three-box hive, and installation) plus $125 per month for visits, maintenance, and monthly updates. It includes 10 lbs of local honey harvested into a gallon glass jar; if your hive does not produce a surplus, we will supply honey from other hives. Add-ons are priced as listed on our website. After installation, the hive belongs to you. Hosts agree to provide about an 8x12-foot area of undisturbed space, keep the yard pesticide-free, keep machinery away from the hive, and allow us access for inspections. [Confirm: minimum term, cancellation, hive buy-back terms, and whether you use a separate hosting agreement.]
Bee Days at the Apiary. Bee Days are drop-in events held outdoors on select spring and fall dates, currently priced at $20 per ticket, with hive inspections available as a $40 per person add-on in limited time slots. Tickets are valid for the date selected. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times, and children must be at least 6 years old to join a hive inspection. We may cancel or reschedule an event because of weather or hive conditions [we will offer a different date or a refund; confirm]. [Confirm: your rule for guests who cannot attend and any ticket transfer policy.]
Bee-related risks. Being around bees involves risks, including stings, severe allergic reactions, and injury. If you or anyone in your group is allergic to bee stings, consult a doctor before attending an event or hive inspection or hosting a hive, and bring any prescribed epinephrine. By attending an event, joining a hive inspection, or hosting a hive, you accept these risks and agree to follow our safety instructions, including wearing any protective gear we provide. We may ask anyone who does not follow instructions to leave without a refund. [Consider a separate signed liability waiver for events and hosts.]

Photos at events. We may take photos and videos at Bee Days and other events and use them to promote our business. Tell us in writing before the event if you do not want you or your child to be included. [Confirm this matches your practice.]
Acceptable use. You agree not to misuse our website, attempt to gain unauthorized access, submit false information, harass others, or use our site or events in violation of any law. We may refuse service to or remove anyone who does.

Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Happy Hive Bee Company, its owners, and its helpers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our website, products, or experiences. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the product or experience that gave rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for our own gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Indemnification. You agree to defend and hold harmless Happy Hive Bee Company and its owners from claims, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees, arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of our website, or your negligence or that of your guests or children at our events or on your property.
Third-party services. Our website may link to or rely on third-party services, such as our website host, payment processor, and social media. We are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.
Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
9. Governing Law, Changes, and Contact
Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Greenville County, South Carolina, and you agree to that venue. [Confirm with your attorney.]
Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when they were last changed. Continued use of our website or services after an update means you accept the new Terms. Changes do not affect orders you placed before the update.
