Adopt a Hive

With our adopt-a-hive service, you can experience what it is like to keep bees, remotely!

Help save the bees!

Help support the honeybees and be part of the solution to declining bee populations! With our Adopt-A-Hive program you can help us build and maintain strong, healthy colonies, learn more about the activity inside a hive, and enjoy local, raw honey!

Love the bees, but can’t keep your own?

Interested in beekeeping but don’t have the time or the space to get started? Adopt-A-Hive is the perfect way to get involved without needing the space, time, or equipment. We’ll do the work- you enjoy the experience!

The perfect gift!

Looking for a unique, experiential gift for the nature lover, gardener or honey fan in your life? Adopt-A-Hive is the sweetest (literally) one-of-a-kind gift!

What is included?

A custom-painted hive of honeybees installed at our apiary

If you live local, you may choose to paint it yourself, or hand over the brushes to your kids. If you live far, we’ll do it for you! We provide everything your hive needs to thrive, including a queen and thousands of hardworking bees.

Full care and management by our team

Based on the season, we’ll check weekly or every few weeks on the health of your colony and make any necessary adjustments. Life inside a hive can change quickly—but don’t worry, we’ve got your back. If your colony faces any challenges, we’re committed to supporting, sustaining, or even replacing your hive to ensure your experience continues!

Monthly digital updates with videos and photos

Each month, you'll receive exclusive video updates from your hive—bringing you up close to all the buzz and activity inside (there’s always something exciting happening!). These videos are yours to enjoy, share, and use to spread the word about the vital role bees play in our world.

An annual visit to your hive

This is the best part. Peek into life inside your hive in person! Suit up, hold a frame of bees, and enjoy a picnic lunch featuring honey from our apiary!

(up to 6 people, offered on select Fridays and Saturdays in the spring)

A share of your hive’s honey

At the end of the season, you’ll receive twelve 12-oz jars of honey!

(local pickup or additional shipping charge)

What does it cost?

The Adopt-A-Hive program is $500/year and is billed annually.
